Morton’s Neuroma

Cause

Nerve entrapment between toes or metatarsal heads.
 

Symptoms

Pain in the forefoot, especially with tight footwear. Relieve of pain immediately after taking off shoes and massage of the forefoot. At times pain at night. Local loss of sensibility.
 

Therapy

Conservative treatment consists in using orthotic devices and steroid injections. In case of failure of conservatice treatment, pain relieve can reliably be achieved by surgical removal of the neuroma.
